The ARTS at Marks Garage is a collaborative art, performance, event, and office space for individuals and organizations aiming to transform our community with the power of the arts in the heart of the historic arts district in Chinatown Honolulu. We are an eclectic & unique venue setting for a private or public party, meeting, film screening, performance or exhibition. We encourage creativity and embrace emerging artists as well as established artists in all genres. Host your next experience in an ART-full community space. EVENT/PERFORMANCE:
- NON-TICKETED PRIVATE EVENT OR REHEARSAL DAY
- $150/hour from load-in to load-out (minimum 4 hours); OR
- $1,000/day for 12 hours maximum (10:00AM-10:00PM); OR
- $5,000/week for 12 hours maximum per day (10:00AM-10:00PM); OR
- $10,000/month for 12 hours maximum per day (10:00AM-10:00PM)
- TICKETED EVENT
- $125/hour from load-in to load-out (minimum 4 hours); OR
- $1,000/day for 12 hours maximum (10:00AM-10:00PM); OR
- $5,000/week for 12 hours maximum per day (10:00AM-10:00PM); OR
- $10,000/month for 12 hours maximum per day (10:00AM-10:00PM)
- ALL EVENTS (TICKETED OR NON-TICKETED)
- $100 clean-up and sanitization fee, includes the cost of perishables and toiletry items
- $100 staffing fee for box office and front of house
- Basic gallery/theatre lighting and house AV/sound available for rent with technical staff (see below)
CO-PRESENTING TICKETED EVENT (subject to approval):
- 50% gross ticket sales split (revenue to The ARTS at Marks Garage must cover minimum hourly license rate at $125/hour)
- Co-Presenting support includes:
- Press release
- Database e-blast
- Ticketing management (Eventbrite)
- Social media marketing (up to 1 post per day, if collateral is provided)
ART EXHIBIT (during gallery hours Tuesday-Saturday 12:00PM-5:00PM)
- FREE NON-TICKETED EXHIBIT
- $500/day for exclusive use of the main gallery; OR
- $5,000/month for exclusive use of the main gallery
- TICKETED EXHIBIT
- $500/day or 30% of gross receipts (whichever is greater) for exclusive use of the main gallery; OR
- $5,000/month or 30% of gross receipts (whichever is greater) for exclusive use of the main gallery
- BACK WALL MINI EXHIBITS (two walls available – approximate measurements: 24ft x 6ft & 18ft x 8ft)
- $100/day for exclusive use of either back wall of the gallery; OR
- $500/month for exclusive use of either back wall of the gallery
- ALL EXHIBITS
- 3.5% credit card fees if sales are handled by The ARTS at Marks Garage (inventory and pricing for all items is required no less than 48 hours prior to opening of exhibit)
- 25% of gross sales for “pop-up” events or items not part of the exhibit (prints/merchandise)
- 25% of gross sales for workshops, classes, or other special events in conjunction with exhibit
- $100/day staffing fee for assistance with installation and/or de-installation of exhibit
- $100/day staffing fee outside of business hours (Tuesdays – Saturdays, 12:00PM – 5:00PM)
- Pedestals and basic tools are available upon request (see HOUSE EQUIPMENT below)
CALL TO ARTISTS (Curated exhibits produced by The ARTS at Marks Garage)
- Submission Fee: Variable ($100-$500 per show); OR
- Donation to The ARTS at Marks Garage (minimum 50% of gross art sales)
- Artists must meet all submission and deadline requirements to be considered for selection
- Artists are encouraged to attend special events throughout the run of the exhibit (First Friday, Final Friday, Meet & Greet, etc.)
HOUSE EQUIPMENT:

- House lights on
- (10) 6ft tables
- (120) black padded chairs
- (6) wood top café tables
- Various staging, platforms, pedestals
- Front desk staffing (during business hours, Tuesdays – Saturdays, 12:00PM – 5:00PM)
- NOT INCLUDED WITH SPACE USAGE:
- $25/event – Basic PA system with speakers
- $25/event – 1 to 2 wired microphones with stands
- $25/event – CD/DVD player
- $50/event – Projector and projection screen
- $25/event – Power use, extension cords, power strips, cables, etc.
- $50/hour – House AV/audio technician
- $50/hour – House lighting technician/board operator
HOUSEKEEPING:
- Rates and dates are subject to change based on availability.
- Date(s) not confirmed until an agreement is fully signed and executed, and a deposit has been received.
- 50% non-refundable deposit and fully executed agreement required to reserve date(s).
- Balance due prior to load-in for event.
- A final settlement meeting will be scheduled following the event no later than ten (10) business days after event has ended.
- Client is legally and financially responsible for any damage to space, equipment, and/or art while hosting event/exhibit/meeting at The ARTS at Marks Garage.
- Prior to load-in for events and/or exhibits, client is required to provide an insurance certificate listing The ARTS at Marks Garage as additional insured for no less than $1,000,000 USD.
